Kelso Web Services provides Web Site Design, Development, Hosting, and Maintenance for our clients. That is all we do (that is enough for us!). We can, however, suggest several firms that do provide these other services. Feel free to mention that you heard of them from us.

Domain Name Registration

For the past few years we have been using Dynadot to register all of our domain names. They charge $9.25 per year for a .COM domain name and $6.99 for a .ORG domain name. What we really like about them is that there are no third-party ads or even the annoying self-promotion ads that overwhelm one with 1&1. Their interface is clean and simple. The make it very easy to transfer in or transfer out. By the way, if you use the link provided, we will get some sort of credit.

We can no longer recommend 1&1 for domain registration and other services. We found them increasingly difficult to work with, especially when transferring domain away from them (real easy to transfer to them). They are cheap but then so is their service. Sorry to all of you who took our advice earlier about them.

PC Repair

We do not provide hardware support (PC repair, installation of software, networks, et cetera). If you are a small business or an individual in need of this type of support, we suggest you contact the PC Doctor by email or phone them at 804-639-9235.

We have also been very pleased with the service department at Best Buy (a/k/a The Geek Squad). You do not have to have purchased your hardware from them (although they really do have excellent prices and the best return policy going) for them to work on it.

Training

Total Training Solutions, formerly Productivity Point International of Richmond, is Richmond's premier technical and end user applications training center. Established in 1983, they have been providing effective education solutions to Richmond's businesses and individuals for the past 22 years. Jeff Kelso, owner of Kelso Web Services, has taken classes with them and even taught for them for several years.

IT Consulting

Data Directions Inc. is a full-services IT consulting firm. It has been in business since 1982. It is locally (Richmond, Virginia) owned and operated. It's origin was in the main frame computers but quickly expanded into client server and Internet. They do soup-to-nuts projects, time and material contract coding, training, and even design interactive multi-media productions. Jeff Kelso, owner of Kelso Web Services, worked for them for many years and remains friends with the owners and many of the staff.
